While the authors on the big read's list are great and fantastic reads, it's not a very diverse list. Not everyone grew up with Jane Austen sitting on the shelf or went through a program where Wuthering Heights was required reading. Some of us may have had Alex Haley sitting on the kitchen table and others may have had to write a paper on Dictee.

This isn't the first time, where I've seen fantastic authors and poets neglected.

So this list is an attempt to change something for the better. So that the next meme that comes out about books will have Joy Harjo sitting next JK Rowling sitting next to Bharati Mukherjee sitting next to Charles Dickens and so on and so forth.

And it's so good. You gotta love comics though. And it's Rodney teaching Ronon about Batman and Superman. And Ronon learning about the Fantastic Four. And Ronon teaching Rodney about his heroes. It's good. And there is great Lorne. Because Lorne is love too. With brushstrokes. And Teyla is not invisible. She's a martian manhunter maybe.

I'm tired of comments from people about tropes, narratives, metaphors and analogies who wouldn't recognize a simile if it gave them a tattoo and bad head. At the same time. While making them lay down on some magic fingers bed.

I'm tired of people who think they invented English because they can read a Harry Potter book from cover to cover and write some porn based upon their memories of the experience.
